“AI in court. How courts around the world are orienting themselves with respect to the new challenges of artificial intelligence”

This monograph is an opportunity to promote academic exchange and interdisciplinary research in the field of law, economics and social sciences as a whole.

The issue is of vital importance in an increasingly globalized and diversified world context, with increasingly transnational subjects and protagonists, which put into crisis the old concept of national territoriality in the application of the rules.

In the specific case of Europe, all countries share significant challenges. On the one hand, increasingly unitary legislation that imposes homogeneous times and rules, on the other, a heterogeneity of national rules that are often in conflict and competition. Let's think of the tax relief legislation, let's think of the "favorable right" for specific corporate categories.

Artificial intelligence is increasingly pervasive, explicitly but also more implicitly and unrecognized. At the same time, the major players in the sector are not based in Europe, and only partially recognize its right and authority.

At stake are citizens' rights, privacy and the ability to self-determination in the broader context of algorithms that determine automatic and unverifiable decisions.

The challenge of AI in this context is crucial and delicate and can outline broad scenarios in transversal fields.

We are interested in analytical and critical contributions to the judgments - recent and increasingly numerous in the field - that see AI service providers as protagonists all over the world, trying to outline a coherent or dystonic orientation of the legal operators of the overall reading.

Authors will be able to submit from 01/01/2025 to 20/04/2025 by registering and following the submission instructions directly on the platform.

"How AI can contribute to equitable and sustainable development"

This monograph is an opportunity to promote academic exchange and interdisciplinary research in sociology, economics and the social sciences as a whole. This issue is of vital importance in an increasingly globalized and diversified world context, where territorial integration policies play a central role in promoting social cohesion, sustainable development and equity.

This is also true in the broader context of global economic crises and geopolitical instability, and in the context of an economic model that has shown fragility and criticality, but above all insufficiencies.

In the specific case of Europe, all countries share significant challenges. They are facing issues such as economic and social disparity between urban and rural areas, sustainable management of natural resources, public policies, urban planning and regional development. All this in the context of being squeezed between Chinese production blocks, American technological monopoly and crossroads of geopolitical conflicts. Understanding how these challenges are addressed in each context and what lessons can be learned is essential to move towards more effective and fair solutions.

The challenge of AI in this context is crucial and delicate and can outline broad scenarios in transversal fields.

Authors will be able to submit from 01/01/2025 to 20/06/2025 by registering and following the submission instructions directly on the platform.

“An ethical use of Artificial Intelligence”

This monograph is an opportunity to promote academic exchange and interdisciplinary research in the fields of law, medicine, scientific research, philosophy and social sciences as a whole.

AI is increasingly present in every application and field, especially in medical, scientific and technological research, in addition to massive uses in the banking and insurance sector, in the world of information, in content creation and in law.

In addition to the explicitly predictive aspect, new AI applications intend to replace decision-making processes, with direct and immediate repercussions on people's lives. There is a problem of responsibility but also of motivation of decisions as well as verification of decision-making processes.

We are interested in analytical, proactive and critical contributions with respect to the unavoidable and central theme of ethical policies – declared, made explicit and verifiable – of the use of AI in all fields.

The monograph aims to offer a comprehensive and transversal reference framework on these issues by bringing together heterogeneous contributions from different fields of knowledge and research to be a useful tool for both the decision maker and the end user, for true conscious self-determination in their decisions.

Authors can submit from 01/05/2025 to 20/02/2026 by registering and following the submission instructions directly on the platform.
